Just over one month post surgery

Finally things are turning a corner and I'm starting to feel better. That first month was tough! I did not expect the lactose intolerance problem....it sure made things difficult!! I'm down 30 lbs though. AND best news of all.....I'm off all 4 of my high blood pressure pills and haven't had a shot of insulin since the day before my surgery (5/15/12).
Even though I struggled with horrible diarrhea because of the lactose and misery from acid reflux.....everything that I've gone thru and dealt with....has been 100% worth getting my health back in control. I have about 60 more pounds to lose and cant wait to "be there".
Try almond milk.  I haven't drank it by itself, but it's fine in protein shakes.  I can't drink regular milk because it sours on my stomach, but the almond milk tastes the same and doesn't affect me.  I use the Blue Diamond Vanilla flavored.

I was actually using water to mix my protein drinks but the problem was with the protein drinks themselves!! Most of them have lactose in them. I could not stomach the Isopure drinks (lactose free). And the pre-made Muscle Milk was TOO sweet. But just this week.....I found a powdered Muscle Milk. I can mix it myself so I add crystal light or water and make it not so sweet. I finally feel alive again. It really is amazing what protein does for your body!
I did buy some almond milk tho. Haven't tried it yet tho
Congratulations on one month out. My surgery date is June 27. I would love to be one month out too!!
