Yup .. that liquid diet was tough.  It's one of your first steps to changing your life though.  Good luck with it.

Good Luck!!!   I will be doing the same next month!!

This is one of the hardest parts of the entire process. You are detoxing your body from carbs, getting used to not having solids, and still trying to live life the way you know it at the same time. The first few days are the toughest. Once you finish getting the carbs out of your system, it will get much easier.

It'll be worth it. Keep moving forward, and it'll be over before you know it.

The liquid diet is the very hardest part but you can do it.  You said that it's taking everything in your soul not to mess up and I believe you, but I also know your soul is big enough to shoulder this all the way to your goal.  I believe in you, keep it up, it's so worth it.

Elina I just checked out Dr. Cirangle's info on the site since I hear folks reference his plan often.  It's interesting that he was trained in the military.  I had my surgery at a military facility, work there as well and have to say the care we get is top notch!

The OH sites numbers are weird in regards to his experience, but his picture makes him look so young!

He's been doing this surgery for over 10 years.  I think even longer than that, but I can vouch for 10 years.  He has published quite a bit and refined his technique over the years based on his results with his patients.  This is why he has gone to a smaller boughie size and why he now cuts closer to the top and the bottom of the stomach and has a very detailed eating plan.  I am very happy with him and his experience.

Oh ya, not saying anything about the actual experience, just that OH's numbers don't add up.

I was happy to see he was trained in the military...  Good foundation...  Definately can see where the rigid standards come from!

You can do this.  The first few days are tough, but you'll get there.  Remember, it will all be worth it to have a safer surgery.  My surgeon said my liver was clean and made his job almost too easy.

And when it gets really tough, remember that you're doing this to be healthier and live longer for your children.  That's what's getting me through this first week post-op.

I hear you.  I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet and its been rough.  I have to cook for my family too and it's so hard to not sample what I am making for them.  I feel really lethargic and irritable now too.  Counting down the days till this stage has passed.  Good luck to you!

How long is your liquid diet? What can you drink? That has to be the hardest part! I'm definitely not looking forward to that! Hang in there. This means you are so close now!

Girl it is hard... Im on day 5!!!! I have to do a 14 day liquid diet before my surgery
It is the hardest part of the entire process but so worth it.    As far as cooking for your girls.  I would highly recommend that you double up on the dishes for those days when your willpower is lacking and just pull something out of the freezer.   I did a lot of sloppy joe meat, taco meat and chicken.   On weekends I did extra pancakes and froze them.   You will have a few weeks after surgery were these meals will come in handy.   I had a weeks worth of meals from people from church and then we would heat up things from the freezer.  I didn't really cook for 3-4 weeks after surgery.

My surgery is June 27th and I only have to be on the liquid diet for 1 week. But I gave up carbs several weeks ago and have been drinking 3 protein shakes a day plus small lunch and dinner. I will be preparing this coming week with everything that I will need this week and after surgery.
One thing I did because I HAD to cook for my kids, was prepare things that I didn't care for. I wasn't all that tempted because it was things I didn't like.

Also, just hang in there...you are at the border of crossing into your new life and leaving the old one behind. IT IS WORTH IT! DON'T GIVE UP!!! (AND PLEASE KNOW IT IS MUCH EASIER POST OP WITH YOUR NEW TOOL!)
Good Luck !

I start my pre-op today and had to fully accept the magnitude of my responsibility in this life-altering process. I badly want this new life and will have to finally find the willpower to stick to something for 7 days. Hang in there for your girls!
