Everything hurts!

I had my VSG on 6-18-2012. All of my liquids and meds hurt going down. My sleeve seems to hate everything! I am barely gettin 35 of the 64 required amnt of fluids. Any feedback is appreciated!

I'm with you, I had mine on the 18 th also.  I have found if I walk around my house with my bottle of water it goes down easier.  I do he same with yogurt and smoothies not sure why this helps, but it does.  I guess I'm killing two birds with one stone getting my liquids in and my walks.   Good luck it wiill happen.

Try different temperatures.  Sometimes ice cold drinks, sugar free popsicles feel good on a new sleeve.  Sometimes warm tea or broth feels better.

I had my vsg on the 12th and the first week was the hardest getting liquids down. Just take smaller sips than you ever thought possible and it helps. I am able to take larger sips now, but sips just the same. Sometimes I would take what I thought would be a small sip and just let it trickle down my throat a little swallow at a time. That really helped reduce the pressure all at once. Gas-X strips help too. You're still swollen and it'll take a little while. I'm still sipping but getting in more liquids now than I was last week. Still on full liquids though. Good luck, just take it slow.

When I was newly sleeved, temp did matter.  Icy cold sf popsicles, which, unless you bite and chew, naturally give very little to swallow at a time, and warm broths seemed to go down much easier than water (and I love water!).  Hope your new tummy feels better soon!

Thanks everyone. I'll try all of your advice for sure.
I'm a month post op today and the first 3 weeks it did hurt to eat and drink. Sip your water and your soup. I still takes ne about 30 mins to eat 2oz take your time. it will get easier. SF popsicles are a life saver and remember they count as your liquid. Good luck!
