Had my one week check-up today.........removed that annoying drain -- I'm totally unencumbered now!  Also was given the go-ahead to start full liquids.  I'm a bit behind due to some surgeons' schedules and a mix-up.  Living on 20 calories a day for a week was NOT fun, but I had my first protein shake this afternoon and I feel like a new girl!

I can't believe how easy this was.  The hernia repair is a bit tender and twingy at times, but the sleeve portion was unbelievably pain-free.  Yes, I know I'm very lucky and I wish for every pre-sleever to have the same easy time of it when they have surgery. 

My only issue is the weight gain in the hospital -- but I know that's all fluids and will go away soon. 

I'm just happy and wanted to share my good news!

Awww, thanks!  Yes, I was happy to read the reports of those who had their sleeves before I did.  Not everyone is as lucky as I am, but I sure hope the best for those nearing their big day.  Will send you lots of happy healing thoughts -- you're going to do just fine!

Congratulations! I am SO happy for you. I see my surgeon this coming Tuesday. I hope I get a surgery date at that time since I have had all my required evaluations. :-)

I actually gained 11lbs in the hospital, but lost them around the fourth day out...whew!  I am now 9 days out and haven't lost as much.
