31 lbs in 8 weeks is great. Please do not be so hard on yourself. Are you getting in the water to flush out the fat? The minute i do not get in the 70 oz of water I slow down in my weight loss. Stay on track with the diet, and working out and you will be fine. I had a 4 week stall at 3 weeks out that made me want to kill myself but i kept at it and lost inches inches instead of pounds. Have you measured yourself to see if you are losing inches? Are you getting in the protein every day? Are you staying away from bad carbs like white flour and sugar? If you are doing all the things you should, you will be a skinny-minnie in no time Best, Sharon

I was five weeks out Monday and I am having the same issues.. I go up and down about 2-3 pounds.. I was getting upset and then decided to stay on track and hope one day the scale will show a big drop...We didnt gain this weight over night and if you are like me, you want it gone yesterday.. Keep following the rules.. I keep telling myself, the small amount we are eating, the weight has got to come off.
You may need to step back and re evaluate your expectations. I can't figure out what the problem is...weight doesn't get put on or come off over night, but 31lbs is pretty rapid.

cuz you enjoy talking smack to yourself?

TWO WOLVES: a cherokee tale (relate this story to your weight loss journey)

A Grandfather from the Cherokee Nation was talking with his grandson.

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves."

"One wolf is evil and ugly: He is anger, envy, war, greed, self-pity, sorrow, regret, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, selfishness and arrogance."

"The other wolf is beautiful and good: He is friendly, joyful, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, justice, fairness, empathy, generosity, true, compassion, gratitude, and deep vision."

"This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other human as well."

The grandson paused in deep reflection because of what his grandfather had just said. Then he finally cried out; "Oyee! Grandfather, which wolf will win?"

The elder Cherokee replied,
"The wolf that you feed"
Sounds like your expectations are way out of whack. When else in your life have you lost 31 pounds in 8 weeks?

I highly suggest two things: don't compare yourself to others (I know you didn't say you were, but it's common for people to do this) and don't set goals of losing xxx pounds in yyy amount of time. It sets us up for disappointment.

The goal here is weight loss and then keeping it off. Focus on building good habits that will serve you well in the long term and the weight loss will follow.

3.87lbs per week and thats a problem.. you are joking right? I am hoping to do that well, keep up the good job...
   ROMANS 12:1
I beseech you therefore brethern, by the mercies of God,that you present your bodies a  living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is your reasonable service.

Your all right,I shouldn't compare and need to keep positive. Carmelita love the story, thanks all for that kick in the butt I needed.

Here is something that I tell myself.  A good attitude is key to success, and not because it's Pollyanna-Susie-Sunshine BS.  The monkey on my back uses a bad attitude as a reason to try to tell me to eat.

"You are a failure, you might as well eat.  At least you'll have *that* pleasure!"

Are you eating on plan?  Are you drinking enough?  Getting your protein and vitamins in?  Some sort of exercise?  Then you are doing your part, and your body is in charge of the rest.  You can't control how fast you lose weight.

Maintaining a positive attitude, or the act of *telling yourself* that you're doing well, you are being successful, etc. is critical to being able to do this long-term.  Like Carmelita said, it's the wolf you feed!
