Thermos Sippy Cup, Anyone?

I confess -- I suck dietCoke down all day with a straw, so I'm trying to figure out how I'll transition into little sips all day -- and I really like my cold drinks to stay cold (though I understand I might prefer warm drinks later).

Anyway -- I came across this, and wondered if anyone had tried it (or would admit to it) -- or if they had it for the kids.  Just curious!

I was in Babies R Us this weekend buying a gift and say toddler sippy cups and thought maybe Id buy some for post-op since I tend to be a gulper

I had simular thoughts prior to surgery but never got a sippy cup. Believe me, you won't gulp more than once or twice before you learn to sip, sip, sip.  It hurts to gulp!

Not sure about that exact cup but my son has quite a few differnt brands and varieties and all of them you have to suck, giving you air, which I believe is why we aren't allowed to use straws. Not good for the belly. What about just using a smaller cup so you don't gulp?
My actual goal is to be happy & healthy....doesn't matter what number that lands on.

GIVE UP THE DIET COKE!!!! THAT IS A MUST!!!! NO SODA!!!

As for the "sippy" cup, a more grown up version is the Tervis tumbler with the travel lid. Check them out on line. They have lots of neat designs and are virtually indestructible!!
Thanks!  I have one of those and I expected that's what I will use -- of course it has a dietCoke logo on it! And I currently have a straw stuck down in it!  I kind of liked that Thermos thing because you can't see what's inside it and it's made to keep things cold - which would be nice for work!
I didnt use that exact one, but I did use a sippy cup for my first couple weeks. It definitely helped me control my gulping.

I bought reusable icecubes just for that reason, I like my cold drinks cold. I bought a 30 pack at bed bath and beyond for $3.99. Works like a charm and doesn't add anymore volume to my drink with melting ice cubes!

Not trying to be the wicked witch but you won't need to worry about a sippy cup in the beginning because pop of any kind is a big No, second, you will have a hard time at first just sipping fluids and if you gulp it down trust me you'll never do it again! No carbonation at all.

LOL -- I realize the diet Coke is gone forever!  I meant for other types of drinks like shakes and stuff!  I made a list of all things that have to change, and Goodbye dietCoke is at the top of it!
Lol, sorry just got off the soap box seriously the shakes might not flow well through the sippy cup and straws cause too much air to be sucked it. Try the little cups they have at the hospital. I'm wishing you the best on this journey keep us posted!
