I have 2 ins. My primary doesn't cover it but, my medicare does so the Dr. office is telling me they won't approve it because the code they put in gets denied and that the sleeve is to new I called Medicare I don't know how many times and they tell me it is covered but, they have it down as the whole proceder with  the switch with it I was due to have it done on 8/13/12 I am very upset. I am ready to get healthy and live a better life.But this Dr. office is really ******g me off and I don't want to go any where else because I really like my Dr. I have done everything that they have asked of me what more do they want?Helpppppppppppppppp

The problem with Medicare is that its only been covering the sleeve since like June 27, 2012 or so. There are still issues in processing it thru their system. My surgery was denied and the doctors office appealed it and it was approved in 3 days.

ask the dr office to go ahead and code it with the switch in. the DS is often done in two parts,in two seperate surgeries the the very very morbidly obese.

after you have the sleeve done you can decline the second surgery that would have done the switch and you are all set. this is what I would do if it was me.
