Anyone with Aetna...

Have any of you been approved with Aetna?  Thanks

Shannon
I used Aenta's HMO and it all went fine!

Good luck

I have Aetna and was approved.  I had to do a 3 month multidisciplinary diet and exercise program and was approved 1 business day after submitted.  The multidisciplinary plan consisted of 4 visits to the surgeon, 3 visits to the dietitian, and exercising 3x per week for a minimum of 30 minutes for the whole 3 months (these sessions have to be documented and signed by the gym personnel and you can't skip a day).  As long as you follow their guidelines they're pretty good about approval.

I got approved by Aetna. It was pretty quick, they requested a two year documented weight history but once I faxed that to them they approved within two days. Having my surgery on Monday!
I just got approved with Aetna a few weks ago and my surgery is scheduled! As long as you fit the requirements Im sure you will be fine. Good Luck!
I have Aetna too, through UPS. I was worried about getting approved but 3 other UPSers recently got the surgery approved and done and they are doing just fine! Hoping to get approved as well :)

Good luck to you!
While I rarely say many nice things about insurers, and while we've had many battles with Aetna over the years, they are better than many other payers out there.  Try and be sure you and your surgeon's office get all the ducks lined up if possible and feel good about your chances!
I do but remember every Aetna policy is designed differently based upon your employer

Well, I'm scheduled for RNY and already approved for that.  But now I think I want a sleeve.  I've already completed all the requirements (diet, nut visits, etc).  When I started this last year (then chickened out lol and had to start over) they said that Aetna didn't cover the sleeve.  The Aetna nurse called me a couple of days ago and said they did.  I had just come to terms with the RNY and she threw a kink in my plan lol.  I originally wanted the sleeve.
I have Aetna POS II went great! did the 6 mos supv diet th was approved in 2 days.

I have Aetna and had a sleeve last October. "Typical" Aetna policies either cover all the WLSs or none of em as a cost cutting plan exclusion. Do a search here or online for coverage policy bulletin 157. And don't give up on what you want!
