This is what makes the struggle "worth it"... NSV and pic included!
Last year at this time, I avoided play equipment like the plague. My hips were to wide to actually "slide" down the slides, so I had to scoot down them and usually just sat on the sidelines watching the kids play to avoid feeling winded from physical activity.
Today we had a swing set delivered and I flew down the slides, played on the swings, and spent hours chasing the kids around the yard.... I'm not stuck on the sidelines anymore!!
Ok I'm new to all this and and just joined oh this week after having vsg on Tuesday. Can you guys tell me what a nsv is. I know that's probably dumb, but I'm new at all of this. Also I am so happy for you! How amazing that you got to enjoy playtime with your kids, I cannot wait until I can be that mom that is involved. Way to go girl!
NSV is short for "non-scale victory" ... it could be anything from fitting into an old pair of jeans, or hearing a compliment for the very first time. Something related to your journey that affected you in a positive way, that does not have anything to do with the # on the scale.
Congrats on your VSG! I'm six months out from surgery and have had so many NSV's that I never thought were possible. So much is going to change for you very shortly!! Right after surgery is rough, as I'm sure you've found out... hang in there and just know that it gets so much better!
