I'm newly sleeved but I distinctly remember those nervous feelings right before surgery. Its normal to be nervous. You are about to change your whole life! This is definitely a journey and I am just beginning but I am excited for me and equally excited for you!

It's ok to be nervous, and you may even wonder what the heck ya did after surgery, but believe me it gets SOOO much better.  I'm 2 months out and haven't felt as good as I do now in years!

This is major surgery, I would question you if you didn't feel nervous. I was a mess before surgery. It was a very difficult decision, and even as I sat in the hospital bed I contemplated running out of the hospital. It has, however, been the best decision I have made and I tend to make really good decisions :) what are you nervous about specifically? I straight up told my doc I was scared he would kill me on the table, and he explained all the actual risks, what he does to mitigate them and that some are just rare things that happen regardless of what he does. It helped me feel better, and I'm pretty certain he thinks I'm slightly crazy.

yo!  perfectly normal as everyone has said.  the surgery is easy.  rough week or 2 after, then you are all good again.  really not that bad at all!  hit me up if you have any specific worries!  I'm one of those guys that thought i could never do this, make it through surgery and relearn to eat after.  I'm doing ok with it all (but i still worry!  jsut now it's about not loosing enough each week!  but i'm loosing plenty!)

Its really normal to be nervous. Its a huge life change.
I felt very disconnected from everything the day of surgery.
Its been 2 months and it has been fairly easy recovering. Its all ups and downs but I am so pleased with my journey.
You will be amazed at whats happening to you and what you will be able to do.
Good Luck!

You are among friends here! I am going through different cycles - last week, it was worrying about whether this would work. This weekend it is realizing the monumental task ahead of me - being able to unconditional my response to sweets and goodies. My approach - one day at a time.

I totally relate! My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow and I am starting a voluntary 2 week preop diet tomorrow. My anxiety is through the roof but know we are taking control!
