OMG I want to send flowers to my surgeon's office or at least give my insurance coordinator, Binda, a HUGE hug!
I got a call from Binda today, I'm approved! Apparently, BCBS was iffy at first because they didn't have a weight note from 2010 (apparently I didn't see that GP that year) and even though I saw the nutritionist in 2 consecutive months I was "one week short of the 2 months' supervised nutrition plan." WTF? Apparently, though, the coordinator did SOME sort of magical sweet-talk, got the insurance rep to go back to the BCBS medical-approval director, and get the thumbs-up!!
I'll get a call from the surgery coordinator in the next day or two to set a date... and hopefully that's the last hurdle. My mom has offered to come stay while I recover (my husband can't get more than a day off of work), but my siblings are visiting for Christmas and I don't want to keep her away. Plus airplane tickets are getting expensive FAST!
But at least one thing less to worry about now, it's actually gonna happen. Whew!!

Yaaaay for hanging in there! I should be finding out this week whether or not my insurance is going to approve me. Maybe we'll be surgery date twins!

Wahooo. I am so excited for you. Yes this is really happening to you. Maybe you will have it 1st week of Dec. I am still keeping my fingers crossed. I submitted last Monday. I will call tomorrow to check up. I am on day 9 of the pre op diet and have lost 8 pounds :) maybe we can be surgery buddies with the other member (rhianan?)
