It may not be helpful to you, but I'm 7 months out and can eat 2.5-3 oz. depending on the type of protein.

The main reason I wanted to respond is to say that NO, apparently there is NOT spellcheck on the latest update. It makes me a little crazy.

I can probably do 6 oz but it doesn't feel great so I'm sticking to the 1/2 cup quantity.

For protein I can probably eat 3oz, I don't think I have or care to push more then that. I know I am supposed to eat protein first but sometimes I will eat a little of my sides first so I get some of everything because the protein always fills me up. I have never measured total oz together for my meal, I do oz for protein and tablespoons or 1/4 cup for sides usually.

I am 16 months post op and I still weigh and measure, so I know exactly how much of what fits. Steak and chicken, 2-3 oz comfortably plus about one oz of veggies or a small side salad. Fish if soft I can eat a little over 3 oz again comfortably. If its salmon or a dense fish then back down to 2.5-3. I have weighed my meals as a total plate full including sides and any sauce and I have not gone over 5 oz in total weight.

I am a little over two years out...

If hungry: 3-4 ounces steak, small salad, a bit of cooked veggies

Normal lunch: half a grilled cheese and some fresh fruit or salad

Normal breakfast: if not a shake, then about 6 ounces steel cut oatmeal maximum (closest thing I do to a cottage cheese test I suppose)

I eat all day though... 3 snacks, 3 meals
