No energy
Everyone has such happy post today, I hate to be the downer. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow. I also had a hernia repair. I am still basically on liquids, but tomorrow can start adding mushy foods. I just can't seem to get my strength back. I walk everyday. Have yet to make it around the block. My daughter wanted to go shopping. The minute I stepped in the store, I felt clammy, lightheaded and nausuas. Am I not getting enough protein? I try to drink all the time. Even drinking gator aid . I just want to start feeling better so I can enjoy this journey. Feeling really down
I wonder if you're not getting enough carbs. Your symptoms sound more like hypoglycemia than protein deficiency. I was on liquids the first 3 weeks also. I was so happy to get to eat mushy foods. At three weeks out I didn't have much energy at all, but I think that's as much from having major surgery as anything else. Give yourself a bit more time. Hopefully things will improve once you start eating some real food.
You had major surgery (more major than most with the hernia repair added in there) three weeks ago, of course you're tired! Keep walking, keep drinking, and get your vitamins and proteins in. If it persists, talk to your doctor.

What GwenMo said. You had major surgery. Some days are fine, and others you will be weak as a kitten. It gets better.
