chest pain
Smaller sips? I spent my whole life up to the sleeve as a gulper. My first three days post op were a learning experience into what a sip really was. Don't get me wrong, I miss taking a long pull of ice water or iced tea, but those days are over, now everything is a ridiculously small sip. Hope this helps.
Sounds like an esophageal spasm. MANY people experience these post op. Sometimes they're caused by drinking something that is a temperature that your sleeve doesn't like, and sometimes it's just part of healing. Mine were sometimes random, and sometimes from drinking too much at once. Your surgeon can prescribe something to help. I was on Levsin (a small tablet that you dissolve under your tongue) and it was an absolute God-send! Don't be in pain if you don't have to be. Give your surgeon a ring!
