Hi! I am new to the forum. I was sleeved July 11, 2012.

I have been sort of stressed over the fact that at times I seem to be able to eat more than I should. For instance, I went out to eat with my family at Gold Star and was able to eat a cheese coney and another occasion eat a cheeseburger from McDonald's but did tear off some of the bread. I am concerned that this may be too much. Is anyone else able to eat that much? I would appreciate anyone posting amounts that they are able to eat now at two years post op and further.

Thank you!

I am 19 months out.  What I find for me is that on average I eat about 3.5 oz of protein at one sitting.  If I eat quickly, then I can eat more and am usually uncomfortable a little while later.  If I eat slowly, then I tend to eat the 3.5 oz of protein and am not uncomfortable nor am I hungry.  In a pinch, if I do eat something at McDonalds, I can usually only eat about 3/4 of a burger but if I eat it quickly then I can eat then whole thing and then I pay for it. Everyone is different and as long as you don't abuse it and it does not become the norm then I would not sweat it.

Remember, just because you -can- eat that much, doesn't mean you should.  Willpower and control is still impotent, the sleeve isn't a magic fix!
