Hi everyone. I am preparing for my sleeve surgery on August25 and have a question about vitamins. What brand of chewable multi and calcium citrate plus D do you use and do they taste okay?  Gotta buy some this week. Also start 7 day liquid diet tomorrow. I hope I can do it!  Well, I am GOING TO DO IT just hope I still have energy to focus on my job

I used the chewable centrum multi.  It took a few days to get used to the taste but wasn't bad overall.  I never found a chewable calcium citrate +D, but I found "petite" pills.  They weren't very petite, and at first I worried that they'd get stuck, but I had no problems swallowing them.

My Dietitian put me on a chewable multi and a chewable calcium vitamin from Bariatric Advantage.  You can purchase them direct from the company via their website:  http://www.bariatricchoice.com

For vitamin D, I use the CVS brand.  It comes in a very small gel ball that is easy on the stomach.

For the calcium citrate I do the 500mg chewables from Bariatric Advantage (peanut butter chocolate flavor).  I think they taste great, and since they're 500mg each you only have to take 2 or 3 per day, unlike most others, which are just 250mg each.  I made the mistake of ordering the first chewable citrate I found on Amazon and it was the most godawful, chalky, enormous pill ever.  I suffered through a week before going to Bariatric Advantage.  It's a little pricey but very worth it.

I use Celebrate Multivitamin Chewable in grape flavor, and Bariatric Advantage caramel chews for calcium (yum - like candy).  I used vitamin tablets and capsules before, but they often made me a little queasy on an empty tummy, and we're not supposed to drink after eating (and I need a few gulps of water to wa**** down), so I went back to the chewable vitamins for convenience.

Good luck with your surgery - you won't regret it! And if it gets tough on your 7-day liquid diet, just remember that you're doing it to get your body in the best condition for surgery, so keep your eyes on that date! :)
