I walked/jogged 3.11 miles in 51:10.  I did the first 2 miles in 31:20 and the last mile in 17:41.   Avg HR was 149. My legs were dead the last mile but I made  5K in less than 52 minutes which was my goal last month for the 5K I am doing in September.  I am going to revise my goal to below 48 minutes which should be doable.

Today is Wednesday, so I'll be jogging today on the treadmill in the gym at my office complex.

I recently had a Body Composition Analysis (BCA) done, and it told me that I have LOTS of muscle mass (no need to gain more) and that I only need to lose another 28-30 lbs from my current weight. I'd like to lose more than that, but we'll see how it goes.

With that BCA, I also got one of the trainers here to work with me and develop a strength training program, rather than having me focus entirely on cardio work. So he did up some dynamic exercises for me, laid out a plan for me to follow for the next 10 weeks, and he'll follow up with me then. I'm stoked!

As a result, I started the new plan this week. Tuesday and Thursday, I follow the weight and strength training program. However, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are cardio days. I can JOG now! I'm thrilled! I want to train to do a 5K in the spring for my 45th birthday so I'm working on that.

On Monday I did 2.66 miles in 35 mins at a 4.0 incline for a total of 420 cals. I am hoping to do much the same this afternoon. I won't stop til I get in the 400+ cals burned range and I have about 45 mins total of gym time to do it. Wish me luck! Now if I could improve my balance while on the treadmill, that would be frikkin awesome!

Thanks for this post. I'll aim for the 3.11 miles (aka 5K) now to have that goal in mind and see how long it takes me!

I hear ya. They're expensive. I am lucky; because of where I work, those machines are available to employees so I got mine done for free. If it weren't free, I wouldn't have done it. I figured why not? I should take advantage of some of the perks here!

I'm so happy you've been able to start adding some run intervals!  Great job!!

Today is yoga for me and I just finished up my hour. I love yoga so much. In two weeks, when classes start up again, I'll be adding Zumba to my Wednesdays :D

Thanks, I had to to  keep my heart rate up.  It feels weird to run.

I did a few classes 90 pounds ago and I enjoyed it even though I'm horribly uncoordinated and lacking in rhythm :D  I hope I'll enjoy it more now that I'm a bit more connected with my body!  I'm also adding a Bhangra dance fitness class to my schedule this week. New-me is a heck of a lot more adventuresome than old-me was.

I'm intermittent fasting this week, and today is a fast day, so I just walked a couple of miles this morning. I may do some pilates later in the day if I have time.
