Losing an average of 2 pounds per week is this...
Hello,
I am 2 months out VSG Post-op and as of now unable to exercise due to knee injury.. I am 46 years old and am losing an average of 2 pounds per week. Is this a good average??
My starting weight pre-op was 375 surgery weight was 365 and now I am 322? The scales seem to be giving me 2 pounds per week now.. Is this normal?
I worry about the exercise and really want to do it but cant right now... once I reach 300 pounds I will be exercising... (22 more to go).. Dr's orders!!
Any insight would be awesome!!
Of course it's a great average. Have you ever averaged 2 pounds a week for 2 months? I certainly never had before. :D While exercise is great for your overall health, diet is at least 90% of weight loss. And you'll probably notice that when you do start exercising your weight might plateau for a week while your body adapts.
You'll find, through this whole process, that some weeks you lose more, some you lose less, but you'll get to your goal eventually if you stick with it and work hard. And, as people have said, when you get to your goal those slow weeks are going to be faint memories.
Congrats on your success so far!
