Support Groups

My Surg and hospital both offer group every 2 weeks. Went to my 1st mtg 2weeks ago & have another tonight. Just wondering if any of you go? I really enjoyed the 1st one I went to.

I am 2 weeks post-op so I haven't gone yet.  My hospital offers the groups once per month.  I won't be able to make October's meeting, but I do plan on going to November's meeting.  

I've gone to 3. One they read a paper to us. And the other two they went around the room awe just talk about how we are doing. I find that most people tell the best parts and not really talk about everything like the emotional struggles or getting used to the sagging skin. 

i had surgery in May and I went to my first support group meeting last week.  My hospital has meetings twice a month - one run by the Weight Center for post-ops only, and another by a former patient, which is for both pre-ops and post ops.  I got a lot out of the meeting and plan to attend meetings regularly.  

Mine are the same..I go to the patient facilitated group...loving it!!

I enjoy the support meetings I attend. They are held twice monthly.  I find them very informative. They helped me before surgery. I attended my first one this week and it was nice to say I final had my sleeve done.  We have a nurse and a dietitian at each meeting. Love to hear everyone's story.

My surgeons is 1 time a month !!! We pic a different topic at the end of each meeting that the next will be about.... last month was a clothing swap ... The week before was GMO'S and before that was trans fats ... they last anywhere from 2 to 3 hours!!! I've learned so much and really enjoy it! !!! :-)
