Logically, I know this is not a stall, but...

Hi there!

I just need you to put my mind at ease...

My high weight was 227, surgery day (August 11) 216.  since Sept 11,  I have 'only' lost 4 lbs. I am 185 now but teetering back and forth between 187-185 since sept 11.

Calories are normally between 400-500, averaging 10 cups of water daily. Protein is a struggle as I have yet to find a protein shake that does not make me vomit.  I  have it given up and am still on the hunt for the protein supplement that will work for me. I try to eat as much of my protein from chicken, shrimp, eggs and cheese, averaging 30-40oz (I can only eat apprx 1-1.5oz of protein per meal plus two snacks ( normally a cheese string at 10am and 3pm).

I am getting a little annoyed and discouraged. Please help me put my mind at ease! Lol!

thanks for the feedback.

I'm guessing you need more protein and more water. Have you tried ready made shakes? They are sometimes easier. I live on Premier Protein chocolate. Try sipping water ALL day long and see what happens. It will work itself out!

My surgery date was 8/8 so we are close.  I was 221 surgery date and 191 now so we are tracking almost the same.  I stalled big time in September.  I found that I needed more calories to loose.  I tried calorie confusion and that broke the stall.  Make sure you are getting healthy fats as well.  What are you doing for exercise? If you are very active then you need more calories.  I log everything in Myfitness pal so that I can see the trends. I am very carb intolerant.  I have to keep my carbs under 40 to keep losing.  Good luck. Hang in there. You are doing great.

Thanks for the replies! I am most definitely relieved.

I will continue working on the protein and water. wish me luck with the protein (premier protein was ok for about 2 weeks after surgery and then I became intolerant- nausea, vomiting and the 'runs'. Not pleasant).

Our stats are very similar.  I had the same problem with ALL protein shakes, ready-to-drink or not...until I tried Unjury Chocolate Splendor.  It's the only one out of about a dozen that I actually liked and I still have one every day.   Get on their website and order a couple sample packets to see if you can tolerate them.

I would say that your protein is too low and you definitely need to supplement to get things moving again.

Keep in mind those who were lower in BMI for surgery tend to lose slower than those with higher BMI. I know there is a WLS Lightweights forum that may be of help.

Do you have any unflavored protein powder? Maybe try that, you definitely need to get your protein up. Wishing you lots of luck!

I couldn't do protein shakes at all until I was about 10.5mos out.  I lived on Unjury Chicken flavored protein.  Its honestly the best ive found.  I still use it today along with Premier if im running short on protein.
