The what if's

I'm  having a "what if day".....

What if I have this and don't lose any weight?

What if something happens in the hospital? MY KIDS NEED ME!!!

What if I lose all my hair?....it's already thin!

I know I am going to do this and I WANT IT! The only thing I have ever wanted more are my babies. Tell me I'm not crazy and that every thing will be ok.  That I am not the only one that has thought this.

The what if I don't list trumps my bad  "what if's" I know I am going to do this . I Have my mind set. I know it is going to be the best thing for me. It's just every once in awhile I get a sudden moment of.....oh no!

Someone at work today said " Are you sure? That just SOUNDS horrible. You aren't that big."

She is also 120lbs soaking wet and as never been over 130......So I know she has no clue what 273 feels like.

I have a huge case of "what ifs" too.  I know the weight will come off.  I worry about the other two though... I think it is normal.  You aren't crazy at all!

I'd say what you're feeling is totally normal. The what if you don't lose any weight part well if you stay on plan you will lose weight & more importantly keep it off, after all we've all been caught up in that cycle of losing just to gain it all back & then some. X that out.

The what if something happens in the hospital part, well anything can happen when you walk out of your door, but you still go out, right? At least at the hospital you have a whole team of medical professionals to help you thru your surgery & beyond that. So X that part out.

The what if I lose my hair part, well sport that wig honey! My hair didn't fall out but I hardly do anything with it anyway, opting for head wraps most of the time & wigs when I want to get fancy. So much easier pulling that off at the end of the day. Apologies if you're a guy, then go bald!, there are some good looking men without a hair on top of their head. More X's

All in all I think you'll be ok. I had the what ifs right up to when I was in the waiting room sporting my surgery cap & matching booties. I thought yeah it would be so easy to back out right now & go on the roller coaster yet again, then figured I had enough of that ride time for the plunge! No regrets. Good luck to you!

Hey Wild! It is so normal to feel the way you do! I completely did! I was FREAKED out before surgery! Here is something I posted right before surgery :) I am sure you will relate! I am a single mom of a 5 yr old and 3 yr old, and was terrified! All went well, and I would not change it for the world! You are going to do GREAT!!!

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, every day would be like Christmas.

It's impossible to have surgery and not lose weight. But if you want to lose a lot, and keep it off, you really need to have your head screwed on straight first. That's really the biggest thing.

We all have doubts. Most of us put off surgery for years while we debate whether to have it. In the end, almost all of us say we wish we had done it sooner.
