Does everyone have nausea?

I am concerned about nausea. I read that some people state they have constant nausea post surgery. Is this something that everyone has? If so, what is done to overcome this?

The biggest cause of nausea early post-op is dehydration.  To avoid that, you must commit to getting 64oz of fluids every single day no matter how difficult it is (and it's a total ***** to achieve).

Had my surgery on 10/08/14.  I have never had nausea of any kind and usually pain meds make me nauseated.

No nausea here. I knew I would be nauseous after surgery because I was nauseous right after I had my gallbladder removed. The anesthesiologist took great care of me & gave me a patch & something in my IV to make sure I wasn't nauseous after surgery and it worked! The only time I feel a slight bit nauseous is if I drink my protein shake too fast. I just take a little break & go slower and all is well. I haven't had any nausea issues with soft foods. I time my bites & make sure they are small.

I was concerned about nausea so I asked for anti-nausea meds.  They gave me a patch and something in my IV, and I didn't have any nausea.  I did feel a queasy about eating for some weeks - not immediately after surgery, but maybe 6 weeks out, but I just didn't want to eat, and when I did eat, I could hold it down.

So if you are concerned ask for meds.  they really do the trick.

None for me.  They gave me some pills, but I noever took any.  Same with the pain pills.  Waste of money, but better safe than sorry I suppose.

I didn't have any nausea after surgery.  If you do, they will give you medication in the hospital to help with it.

I had nausea all the time until about 2 1/2 moths out.  I lived on zofran which helped, but didn't stop it completely.  Between 2 1/2 and three months out it just eased away.  My doctor said I was one of the unlucky few it happens to.  I dealt with it because it has all been worth it.  I had gastric sleeve surgery on June 19, 2014 and I have lost 83 pounds so far.
