How long do you take to eat?
I still trying to figure all this out. I'm almost 3 months out (next week) and I don't know how much/long I should be eating. I chew, chew, chew like crazy still and take tiny bites, but if I super slow, I can get in more food rather than if I eat not fast, but faster than super slow. I always stop when I feel full, but depending on how slowly I'm eating I get in different amounts. So do y'all measure (something I do) and then eat slowly until you've finished it all. Or do you eat for a certain amount of time taking a bite every ____ seconds/minutes. I remember from my education class not to "graze" by taking forever to eat, I just don't know how long is too long or how much is too much other than my pouch saying I'm done.
My plan says that I need to stop eating at 30 minutes. So if I'm not finished eating my measured out portion by the 30 minute mark, I stop eating anyway.

Back when I had my DS, there were no eating plans with a sleeve stomach (sleeve wasn't available except as part 1 of a 2 part DS). In fact, the advice from the nutritionist was all generic wls, so it did me no good. I had a goal that I needed 100g of protein (DS- remember, VSG doesn't need this) and 64oz of fluids. I ate however much and however many times it took to achieve that goal every day, if I did it in 3 meals or 12 snacks. I had room for little else for a few years, so it worked very well for me.

I eat as fast or slow as I am comfortable with. I don't try to eat super-slow. I do weigh and measure my food so my quantity of food is not related to speed. Sometimes I eat a bit fast, and wish I had more when I finish, but when its gone, I'm done.
At 3 months out, I was probably eating 2.5 to 3 ounces of protein per meal with little room for anything else. I now eat 3.5 ounces of protein and about 3 ounces of veggies per meal.
best wishes,

Week 11 for me. I measure 2 oz portions of protein. I give myself an hour to eat. Some things like yogurt or chili, go down easily and I don't need an hour. Chicken.... I definitely need an hour and sometimes I don't finish.
I also take 1-3 minutes b/t bites. Again, things like yogurt I give a minute, things like chicken I give 3 minutes. I also try to give myself 3 minutes when I feel like I would wolf my food down. I am working on my bad habit of fast eating. So when I have something really good or I am feeling really empty I purposefully take my sweet time to teach myself that the food isn't going to run away. I can eat slowly.
Its been 4 yrs and I still eat very little at the time...at times I think its not even worth eating... haha! I concentrate on protein but my body really tells me what I need to eat- it just knows by now. It still takes me forever when I know I really NEED to eat if the day has hardly allowed me to eat like I need to.
I go with "I'm done". It also depends on the type of food I'm eating---meats fill you faster and stay longer:)
