Weight loss has Nut concerned

Today I saw my nut,  She was concerned because I've lost 17 pds since surgery on the 21st. I just started shakes Monday but now she has me supplementing with soft foods.  In my mind I was doing well drinking like I should and walking as much as possible.  I feel good and am never hungry or thirsty.  I'll see what this new stage brings... If my weight loss slows down.

Hi There - I had surgery a week ago on the 23rd and i'm down 18 lbs since surgery. Same as you, i'm able to eat and drink the approved foods well and i'm not feeling any hunger. Haven't seen my nutritionist or surgeon yet but I was worried myself that i've lost so much in a short amount of time. Glad to hear your on the soft food stage, I'm stuck on liquids for 2 more weeks and it's making me crazy!! so sick of it all.

Best of luck to you :)

My doctor's office doesn't want anyone losing more than 1 lb. per day...but frankly, I was eating and drinking everything and I couldn't help it.  They made me self-conscious about it, like I was anorexic of something!

No worries...it all slowed down soon enough and yours will too.  Just make sure you aren't restricting yourself at this point.

Is she concerted you're losing too fast?  Or too slow?  What exactly is her concern here?

If you're sticking to your plan, I'd ignore her.  Some people have really fast initial weight loss.  It'll slow down on its own.

Are you getting all of your fluids and protein in?  64+ ounces of fluids and 60-80 grams of protein?
