One Week Post-Op - Only 4 lb!!

I'm a week post-op and have only lost 4 lb!  Is this normal?  

I'd say so.  You haven't even shed all of the IV fluid yet.  Keep drinking and walking, you will see.

Yes, its normal. I only dropped 3.5 lbs and the Dr. was thrilled with that. He also said it would pick up with the increased exercise.

4 pounds in a week is a good number...plus you are still recovering from surgery, retaining water, flushing out IV fluids, and you put your body through a major ordeal. 

the weight will come off.  follow your plan, stay hydrated, walk walk walk!

Girl I was up 5 pounds after surgery ( I had some issues so they flooded me with IV) and so discouraged.  No one had ever told me about the gain from the fluids.  By the next week I was down 10....don't worry it will come off! Congrats you are doing great!

Totally normal.  Most of us actually gain weight during surgery from all of the fluids we're injected with.  

It's fluid from the IVs during surgery.  They haven't been flushed out of your body yet.  Don't worry, it'll happen and then you can rejoice
