Maybe a stupid question................

I start my pre-op liquid diet on Monday.  Here's my possible stupid question.  Can my shakes be made with Almond Milk?  Or does it need to be water?  Thanks!!

Yeah I would ask but you can get unsweetened almond milk that is under 50 calories for a cup.

I was too excited, when the surgery coordinator called last night to tell me I was approved, to ask anything!!  I'll email her this morning.  The Unsweetened Almond Milk I've been using is only 30 calories a cup.  Hoping that's OK.  They taste so much better with milk than with water.

I've been using unsweetened almond milk since day one.  You've got to make sure it's the unsweetened kind, since the sweetened kinds are pretty high in sugar.

Thanks everyone!  I feel better now.  But, I did email my surgeon's office just to double check.  :-)

My doctor's office told me I could use almond milk IF it was unsweetened!!  I used unsweetened, vanilla almond milk and a few ice cubes because I liked my shakes thick!!  However, keep in mind that after your surgery, you may have a hard time getting your protein in at first and, if you are like me, I couldn't drink a thick shake anymore!!  I actually switched to using water after surgery!! Good luck!! :)

Trust the Process!! :)

I use the chocolate unsweetened but it is 45 calories a cup. I don't even come close to using a cup though.
