Hummus

I am in the "soft food" part of the diet; some items on the list given are grilled fish, tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, cottage cheese, refried beans, yogurt, oatmeal, and canned fruit.  What are your thoughts on hummus?  It seems like it should be acceptable since it has the same consistency as refried beans.

Low protein, high carb, high fat. 2 TBS of Athenos (national brand) hold 50 calories, 5 grams carbs, 1 gram protein, 3 grams fat

Use as it works in your program.

My nutritionist told me hummus is fine, but you have to include it as a starch (I'm allowed 2 servings of starch a day-2 oz per serving).

Love it!    Initially caused a lot of gas though ; now I seem to digest it better I guess.

I like hummus and really wanted to use it during the weight-loss phase...but it just didn't fit into my plan as far as protein-to-carb ratio.   If it didn't have twice as much protein in it as carbs, I typically wouldn't eat it.   The bang wasn't worth the buck, so to speak.

I think you're good with hummus.  I'd go for it.
