3 month checkup *pics in profile*
So far this has been an incredible journey. I was at 3 months post op on October 30th and I had my 3 month appointment with my surgeon on Thursday. Since my 1 month post op appointment I've lost 30lbs. 30lbs in 2 month is amazing! I'm down 79lbs total weighing in now at 243 from a starting weight of 322! They said it is one of the biggest losses they've seen. I'm feeling great and can't wait to reach 100lbs lost.
I am definitely loving the NSV's so far. When I walk around at work people are smiling at me instead of purposely avoiding eye contact. Restaurant booths no longer squeeze my stomach and I actually have room to place the napkin on my lap. Getting in and out of the car is easy. My back no longer seizes up in pain when I walk for long periods of time. My face is getting skinny and I spend more time in the morning applying makeup and doing my hair. I walk with feminine confidence instead of staring at the floor or my feet. My sex life with my boyfriend has greatly improved. I can exercise for longer periods of time before I get too tired.
The negatives (sort of)
None of my clothes fit. Shirt sizes were 3XL and pant size was 24. Im still wearing them! Im trying to save money for the holidays so Im putting off shopping for clothes as long as possible. Also, I think I've only dropped 2 pant sizes. My 24 and 22 size pants are too big but my old 18's are too small. 2 pant sizes after 79lbs? Wtf. I hate my hips and my thighs. I know I have a broad frame but it's so discouraging.
I haven't lost any hair yet but my scalp is itchy. I take biotin and get plenty of protein but Im nervous. The itchy scalp is either dry skin due to the colder weather or a sign of things to come. My hairdresser told me that my hair right now is the healthiest she's ever seen it. I guess we will see what happen.
I get self conscious when I eat around people who don't know I had wls. They tend to look at my plate and although they don't say anything I know they are probably wondering if I've developed an eating disorder lol. But oh well. I don't need to explain myself to anyone.
My progress pics are in my profile. I still have a long way to go, but I'm really happy with my progress so far. Now if only my stomach will start to shrink more I'd be ecstatic.
It took me about 50 pounds just to drop one pants size. I'm pretty sure my original jeans were way too tight, so first I had to lose enough for them to fit well before I could lose enough for them to be too big. I've also found that I lose weight from my top half quicker than my bottom half. But, it'll catch up, I'm sure. I'm only 57% of the way to my goal, after all!

Huh. My reply was cut off.
That link is why we lose hair post-op.
I actually would prefer people to ask me straight out why I eat so little - I'd rather they know they truth than form some crazy theory in their brain about it!
Congrats on your progress so far. Keep it up!
