help! Stall!

I am so frustrated and could use some help! I had surgery October 15. With 1 week preop and almost 2 weeks after, I lost 40 pounds. And I thrilled about that, but since then, the scale has not moved in 2 1/2 weeks. I am getting in my protein and liquids. I do light exercise, walking mainly. Still nothing! I had my husband hide the scale for the last 2 weeksso I wwouldn't be stressed and just thought for sure 5 weeks out that I would be done something. I can't help but feel like yet again this is a failed attempt at losing weight. Anyone else have experience with this? I did lots of research on stalls but this long? Thanks!

Stalling at about 3 weeks out for a few weeks is completely normal. If you are confident you are following your plan correctly (not getting your liquids from milkshakes or Dairy Queen Blizzards or some such), just put your head down and keep going. Have your husband hide the scale for another couple weeks. You will be fine!

Most doctors say a "true" stall is 4+ weeks with no change in weight or measurements.

You've already lost 40lb, were you expecting more? Your body has a lot to adjust to, and that quick drop will almost never continue.

Thanks everyone! I will just keep doing what I'm doing. It can just mess with your mind sometimes!

I remember when I had my stall...I kept thinking WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT!?!  And then, the weight slowly started coming off again.  Give it time...you are doing great!!  :)

Stalls are totally normal throughout this entire process and it's a shame that surgeons don't seem to ever prepare their patients for this fact.

How much protein are you getting?  How much liquid?  What, exactly, are you eating?
