I did it !booked for vertical sleeve Dec3 with dr Lopez

Wel im on my 14 day pre-op diet....anyone have any helpful hints as im finding it hard to do the shake shake salad...i feel hungry (i do have a very high BMI)how are you dealing with your hunger?Have any positive info about dr lopez?thx in advance

The hunger will pass in 3-5 days. I am a very high BMI as well and I went crazy about day 3, don't worry just push through and it will get better. As a high BMI you do not want to cheat, you want that liver to shrink as much as possible to make things easier for your surgery.

Hang in there.  The first 3 - 4 days are rough getting past the carb withdrawal.  I drank a lot of peppermint tea the first few days.  Warm liquid seemed to help fill me up. 

Dr. Lopez did my sleeve Aug. 8.  I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire process. I recovered very quickly and have had no complications. I was amazed at the quality of care that was provided.   Which location are you going to?  I flew into San Diego and went to TJ.

Stick with it!  You can do anything for 2 weeks!!!  That's what I keep telling myself.  Then when the next phase comes, you can do that too!

I'm going to Tijuana tomorrow with my daughter who has surgery scheduled with Dr Lopez.  I had my sleeve surgery in my home town 1 year ago- lost 84 lbs so far- but her insurance would not cover it.

I'll report back, but from everything we researched Dr Lopez is fantastic.  Stay tuned . . .
