So, I start my preop soon, and I have been trying different drinks. So far I know that I can barely tolerate shake consistency. I wanted to love premier protein like everyone else, but its so thick. Im like desperate here, I hate protein lol. I need something with a water consistency that I can mix a bunch of crystal light with.

Try the fruit and tea type flavors of Syntrax Nectar. They mix with water and are much lighter than the traditional chocolate or vanilla powder that you mix with milk. You can get samples here:

For ready to drink, try the Isopure flavors. Your best bet is to go to Vitamin Shoppe or GNC and buy single bottles of different flavors. Fair warning, lots of people find Isopure disgusting -- I sure did! I fully agree with the name Isopuke. However, when I was immediately post-op, I was able to choke it down if I cut it 50/50 with ice water or with G2 or Powerade Zero. And at that point it wasn't about liking something, it was about whether I was able to get it down! So I drank it. But as soon as I could, I stopped and switched to other drinks I liked better.

So I got isopure , I've only tried apple melon with crystal light. The good news is I can swallow it , as long as I can swallow it the after taste is bad but I'm gonna chew sugar free gum and call it a day , hopefully after surgery I can learn to like sometbjng else

I like Core Protein Light. It is more like a milk drink in consistently and not thick.

Good luck.

If you can tolerate the taste of premier, thin it out by adding water, or (for a little more protein), add milk.  This is true of any protein drink where the consistency is the issue - thin it out to what works for you.  All that does is add a little more liquid, which you need anyway.

I second the samples from Nashua.  You can always mix a powder with water and use more than recommended to get a thinner consistency.

Syntrax also makes an unflavered protein. You can mix with water or any drink you want.

I like the Premier shakes, as long as I fill the shaker full of ice. It helps to thin it out a bit
