Surgery is MONDAY!! I'm a little LITTLE NERVOUS!! Trying to look at the big picture here. I am 57 and I sure hope I can make this tool work for me! This has been a big decision for me. Just tired of the 30 year of losing and gaining!!!

You can do this!   My surgery is on the 15th.  I am in my 50's also and I am tired of the yo-yo dieting.  This surgery can help us make the next 30 years Awesome!  Hang in there and keep yourself busy till Monday.  I went shopping yesterday for all the necessities, ie, dog food/cat food, toilet paper, milk, etc. & for Christmas presents so I won't be worrying about that while I am recuperating.  I will be praying for you Karen!

You're doing a wonderful thing for yourself! As someone who was in the same boat almost a year ago (50's, similar starting and goal weights, sick of yo-yo dieting), I can tell you that this is an amazing process and you will be so glad you did it.  I would echo Gwen's advice about walking and sipping, and add that you should try to get in a mindset of strong, steady patience and resolve, because this takes a while - it's not all over after a few months. We're in this for the long haul! I'll be thinking of you on Monday and wishing you a speedy recovery.  You can do this!!
