Therapist
I had decided long ago that when I got my VSG, it would transform into an entire mind, body and spirit makeover.
I have been going to a therapist who specializes in eating disorders since a couple months before my surgery on 9/23/14. I have to say that I really like her and I connect with her. It is easy to talk with her about everything (past bad marriage, motherhood, childhood, etc.). She asks me questions that really make me think and explain the reason why I do what I do. She gives me exercises make me focus on activities other than mindless eating, and so far I have been somewhat successful with it.
Anyone who is skeptical about seeing a therapist, don't be. You may have to try a couple to find the right "fit", but you will get a lot out of it.

I can't agree more. Most of us don't get fat without some little demons rolling around in our heads contributing to the bad behaviors. Therapy can make a huge difference in our mindset and outcomes.
