What to eat during Christmas at the Puree Stage

I am so afraid to eat anything.  I just had the worst stomach pains that felt like labor pains.  They lasted two days.  I was hospitalized, but they did not find anything.  Upon release, the Dr. said I can move up to puree foods on Christmas day, but I am not sure what I should eat.  I am scared to eat because I don't want to feel that pain anymore.  Any suggestions for Christmas?

I just started puree yesterday and I had cream of wheat. Could only eat 3 tablespoons but it was delicious. For dinner I had some sweet potato and today for lunch I had Trader Joe's fat free refried bean with cheese and avocado. It was yummy. I can have yogurt, pudding, unsweetened applesauce, mashed bananas, pureed canned fruit with no sugar added, cream soups and ricotta cheese with Trader Joe's marinara sauce (3 grms sugar). But for Christmas, I bought some turkey meat balls and was told I can puree with fat free gravy. Just take it slow and eat 1 tsp at a time to see how your tummy takes it.

Yes, we can have sweet potatoes. Again, I could only eat like 3 tablespoons. No nausea or stomach pain. I did exactly what the doctor said in the beginning and stayed on clear liquids. When I try something new, I always wait about 10 minutes before having another 1/2 spoon full. It does get better and I can't wait for soft foods! Gotta wait for another 2 weeks. Good luck.

Aside from ricotta and yogurt, I wouldn't eat any of these things that you mention.  They're all too carb-heavy without enough protein for me.

I was given a list of puree foods from my NUT and she told me not to be concerned about anything, only sugar. Staying below 5 grams. I'm not eating much, just about 3 tablespoons of puree, and I'm full. I can hardly say that wouldn't contain that many carbs. I'm still loosing 1 lb per day. Trust me, I do everything my NUT and doctor tell me.

Yeah.. my NUT says I should stick to low fat everything, but I think she's an idiot in that regard.  I think your NUT telling you not to emphasize protein is also pretty idiotic.  If you can only eat 3 tablespoons at a time, you should make those 3 tablespoons count.

Thought we were talking about Carbs? My NUT wants me to get in at least 64 grams of protein per day, which I'm doing. Proteins and water are most important for me right now. Thanks Gwen for your suggestions.

Here's a list of everything I ate during my pureed stage - https://www.myvsg.net/2-uncategorised/142-pureed-food-i-ate

I did, and still do, stick to protein rich foods instead of foods that are primarily carbs.
