Sweet Tooth?
So I have never had a big sweet tooth. I am over weight because I used to eat three huge meals a day. I also rarely used to eat between meals. I did love my carbs in particular. I have not had any problems resisting bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. Recently however, I am craving chocolate. I have never had this before. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a hershey's bar and cut it into three pieces and had it as a treat on three nights over a weeks time. I feel like that is a slippery slope, not to mention when I stare at MFP and see the carbs and sugar from that entry, Well it really bothers me.
Any suggestions? Fresh fruit kind of fills the needs but the carbs with that make me thinks thats not the answer either.
Sugar free popsicles perhaps? Although those can be addicting! I like sweets now more than I did pre-op too, which is annoying. I like keeping a bag of semi-sweet and bittersweet chocolate chips in my fridge and when the craving hits I'll eat 3-4 of them. It's enough to make my brain happy but not enough that I feel derailed. (I get high quality chips, since they're way more satisfying!)

The thing to be careful of is moderation. Some people can eat stuff like this in moderation and, for some, it just triggers them to wanting more and more all the time. So that's something to be aware of about yourself!

I have a crazy sweet tooth as well, which I figure is sort of a result of largely giving up carbs, and soda. Chocolate is not typically my thing but occasionally I have craved it and in those times I have bought the small Dove chocolates or the little chocolate squares. One or two satisfies my craving and keeps me from losing control.
Cravings are sort of a double edged sword. Yes, you probably shouldn't give into every one but if you ignore them forever they only tend to get worse and may lead to binge eating. I've always been better off satisfying the craving in a controlled manner than ignoring it. Plus, dark chocolate has been shown to have numerous health benefits so don't be afraid to indulge - as long as it doesn't spiral out of control (like Gwen said).
why not try those 100 calorie packs? They have choc chip cookies, but you have to be carefull that having a little of the real thing won't cause you to go overboard on them.

I'm a slippery slope person. I can't leave bags of sweets or anything else around. HUGE sweet tooth! I try to power through with drinking an insane amount of water, coffee, tea. Sometimes I'll get a 20oz bottle of diet soda. Diet soda doesn't trigger cravings for me but I know it does for some people.
