Thoughts on carbinated drinks
I pretty much drink water only. On occasion I have a sugar free sobe and I will have coffee & tea every now and again!
I really enjoyed coke zero before surgery. I would have one 12 ounce can with my lunch. I'm getting a little bored of all the water and wouldn't mind trying coke zero again. My taste may change and I may not like it anymore.
Thoughts??

You're probably going to find that it is uncomfortable to drink it. My enjoyment of it has diminished greatly because part of what I enjoyed is drinking it with other things. Can't do that anymore! And I find that when I drink it by itself that it tastes great in my mouth but doesn't feel so great when it hits my stomach. Causes a lot of acidy-burning feelings in my tummy
My husband has found that he can't drink it at all. It makes his stomach hurt.
Some people have been warned not to ever drink diet soda again because it will "stretch" your sleeve. There is no empirical research proving that point that anyone has been able to provide to me. However, it's chock-full of chemicals and nasty stuff that we don't really need.
As for me, I'm really trying to get away from my little 8 oz. a day Diet Coke treat because I know it isn't any good for me. So I'd be the last one to tell you "don't do it!".
You might not like the taste anymore, it might make you really sick. Some people can drink carbination and some can't. I can but I think it is a "gateway drug" and keep it to a minimum. Now there is some evidence that the diet sodas lead to weight gain, I would avoid it if it was a habit before surgery. No a lot of point having 80% of your stomach removed only to self sabitoge in my mind. Why not weight until you reach your goal and see if you still want to go there?
Diet coke mixed with water and milk?
