8 months out and I'm LOST!!!

I have not lost anything in the past 2 months. My main problem is I've become comfortable, but I absolutely have to lose 30lbs by my 1 year surgery date in may. I am slipping up everyone and i'm trying to go back to basics. Surely others have experienced this, I need a reality check feedback. I get compliments from EVERYONE, but I have a person goal I must be down by May 13th.  I am so grateful and happy I had this surgery and I don't want to be a disappointment. Any suggest? I even want the good, the bad, and the UGLY. I can take it!

As of tomorrow I will be back in the gym and I plan to start cooking my meals at home. My biggest problem is letting my sleeve dictate what it wants to eat now that it's healed. If like its a daily battle. So if this is rambling, I just took my ambien so I could go to sleep.

Thanks All!

You may not want to hear/read this, but what the heck, you said it was okay....

Going back to the gym is not going to take the weight off. Eating correctly and making certain you are in a calorie deficit is going to take the weight off. You need to track every single bite that goes in your mouth. You need to keep your calories low and your protein high. You need to be pounding back water and staying away from sweets.

You also need to stop thinking that your sleeve is dictating what it wants. Your sleeve doesn't give two hoots about taste, flavor, texture, etc... That, my dear, is your mind and possibly your leptin response dictating cravings. You can stop those cravings by eliminating carbs (and most of all sugars ) from your diet.

If you want to lose 30 pounds in the next four months you need to step up and take control. Go get it and Good luck!!

^^^ Everything Kairk said.  You can do this!

ETA:  And who is saying you "have to" lose those 30 lbs. by a certain date?  Certainly not your doctor.  Are you in line to win a ton of money if you drop that weight by that date?  Setting an arbitrary date to lose a certain amount (or even a deadline with an important date attached like a wedding, etc.) was always a SURE way for me to rebel and go the opposite direction.  This is why I don't set "losing weight deadlines" or join in on work contests to lose weight.  They. Make. Me. Crazy.

Be kind to yourself and take the next right step.  This is your life and there is no deadline for getting it right.

Good point. I have already met my goals per my doc standards. But it's me saying i have to lose 30 more pounds. Sometimes I think I set myself up for failure.

Typically it is 80% what you eat and 20% what you do for exercise. Since your comfortable, not cooking at home, and letting your sleeve dictate what you eat--what have you been eating? Looking at what you have been eating, making sure you start tracking everything, and exercising you should be on track for losing 30lbs.

Thank you guys. Carbs came back in and have really taken control of me. Its sad and fustrating but I am the only one to blame. I've always hated logging food but I just started again today. I know I can do this l, I am so close to goal I can feel it.

I never really counted calories before. Is there a specific range? I put all my meals into MFP and it added up to roughly 900 cals. Is this to much?

Every plan is different but here is mine.

700-900 calories. I am in the losing stage and I rarely go over 700

70-90 grams of protein

20-30 grams of fat

30-50 grams of carbs

64 ounces of water

At least 30 minutes of activity 5 times a week.

I get about 50 grams of protein from twice daily protein shakes. I usually have one for breakfast and one at 4:30pm or so. I just use the off the shelf ON Gold Standard 100% Whey mixed with Unsweetened Almond milk. Lots of flavors, tastes good, goes down easy.
