Just starting to look into surgery. Went to the info meeting and next week have appointment with the nurse. For those of you over 50 and had the surgery How are you doing with it?

I had my surgery 8 months ago, when I was 53, and feel fantastic! I haven't felt this good since I was a teenager. I don't exercise much but still have loads of energy. It took quite a bit of getting used to in the beginning but has since smoothed out and I'm in a good eating routine now. I'm so glad I had this surgery!

I am 66 years old and had my surgery two months ago on December 29th.  I have a long way to go but know I will get there with this surgery!   I have been very lucky to have no difficulties at all.  I do not see age as a factor at all.

I had my surgery when I was 48 and now I am 58. If it had not been for my surgery I don't think I would be here celebrating 58 years!  You will do fine  Keep us posted on how you are doing!

I had my surgery 5 weeks ago. I am 62. For the last 10 years, I have felt 20 years older than my age, and wondered how awful I would feel 80. With 40 pounds gone since Pre-Op Diet, I am already feeling so much better, and look forward to the next 20 years. Best decision I ever made (and I self-paid)! Kay :-)

I am just 60 and six months out.  I never needed pain meds, I was happily back to work in a week despite planning for 3 weeks off, I feel fantastic and I am off all of my meds.

I think losing weight can go a bit slower when you are older (or maybe it's just me) but I think it's more about being prepared, having some luck and a good surgeon and, most of all, a good attitude.

I had my surgery almost 7 months ago at 51.  I feel amazing!  The first few months are an adjustment but so worth it.  I feel 10 years younger. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.  Happy Happy Joy Joy!

I was 63 when I had my surgery.  I am 65 now.  I did not find my age to be any issue.  Grab this good health with both hands.  No regrets here- only smiles!

Nancy

Joy, I'm 58 years old and I had surgery 12/4/2015 and I feel amazing!!!! I no longer have aches and pains in my knees and my arthritis symptoms are gone. I have so much energy and found that I really enjoy exercising. Thats hard to believe! Wished I had done this surgery years ago. Good luck. Christine
