Non-Scam Loans? Self-payer looking for advice.

NOTE: I posted this in financing too...no responses yet....   :(

Hiya!

So I have my passport, got approved for surgery and now I just need the last of my funding.

I have some in savings and have taken out my retirement early but I am still needing money as I will be self-paying in Mexico.

Does anyone know of a loan company that would consider loaning to a "fair-credit" person?

I have been scouring the boards for info but haven't really found any recent postings.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

If you google medical loans, you'll find all kinds of options, but interest is crazy high, especially with 'fair' credit.

I've had good luck with CareCredit for vet bills, but the interest rate is high, so I'd only recommend them if you can be certain you'll have it paid off within the interest-free period (usually 6-24 months depending on your credit and the amount).

My wife used them for her hearing aids. If she doesn't pay it off in a year it becomes retro interest.
