6 weeks!!

I can't believe that tomorrow will be 6 weeks post-surgery. Even though I thought the 6 weeks would go by slow looking back it's gone by fast. I started this journey at 223 pounds. This morning I weighed 183. Twelve pounds of that was from my 10 day pre-op diet.  I was reading through all my information last night and although I have some suggestions and guideline for eating after 6 weeks it basically says you are on your own. What did you eat after 6 weeks?

Your surgeon's office gives you no guidelines for a successful post-WLS lifestyle?!  That's horrible!  I would probably complain to my insurance company or the hospital about that.

Most at of us eat small portions, high protein and low carb. For specifics, you can check out the daily "whatcha eating" thread that's posted here.

Hi,

Congratulations on your success so far.

My diet at 6 months was almost exclusively protein.  I didn't have enough capacity to make my protein numbers and eat veggies.  So I was basically eating 2.5 to 3 ounces of dense protein per meal.  As my capacity increased I upped it to 3.5 ounces of protein and added healthy low-carb veggies if I had room.

I found I had to cook interesting things or I'd be tempted by the things I shouldn't eat.  It helped if I could say "No, you can't have pizza, but you can have that chicken in spicy peanut sauce or that crack slaw, or that pesto chicken, etc."

good luck with your weight loss journey.

Carol
