Happy Hump Day everyone. I hope the day is going well for everyone. It's a busy day for me but I wanted to pop online for a bit before I am out and about for several hours.

Oh, I found a new protein that I really like. This is good news for me because my favorite protein that I was using changed formulas and I didn't care for it as much. This one is made by Cellucor and the flavor is Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. This is the first chocolate protein that isn't really chalky to me and the raspberry seems to cut down on the overly sweet fake chocolate flavor that some of them have. The stats: 120 cal, 1.5g fat, 3g carb and 25g protein.

B: Steel Cut Oats and Protein Shake (pre/post workout)

S: Cheese Stick

L: Morningstar Veggie Burger and 1 oz blueberries

D: Mexican lasagna

W&V: On track

E: Boot camp and walked 3 miles. Off to PT in just a little bit.

My weight bounced up again after the memorial day party, sigh.  So back to basics!  I've also been having trouble sleeping, and I've been up until 3AM the last few nights.  then I end up self-soothing by eating humus and crackers, and these are definitely not on plan!  Any thoughts on sleeplessness?

breakfast - salmon

lunch - seasoned hamburgers

lunch2 - greek chicken with kalamata olives

dinner - buffalo chicken with wheat thins

vitamins - good

water - good

exercise - recumbent bike soon!

Ugh, I hate those sleepless nights. I have struggled with insomnia quite a bit plus I am naturally a night owl. Sometimes those two combine to make some really long nights. And you are right, I tend to snack more during those nights as well. i have learned that I get a "second wind" during the night. If I am not in bed before that time then I'm most likely going to have a long night. The other thing that has been helping me recently is the amount of exercise I'm doing. My body is tired at night and it's a lot easier for me to drift off to sleep. When it's my mind that won't settle down for the night I either write everything down that my brain is thinking of or I send myself an email on the phone. The great thing about using my phone is that I don't have to turn on the lights to do it. That helps settle my mind down. I have also been meditating right before bed too. That seems to help get me in the right state to go to transition to sleep easier.

Is this your first 5K since surgery? As far as dinner, well, the soda pop pork lolipops and the diablo burger both sound tasty to me.

Woah - I'd be surprised if anything on that menu is less than 1000 calories!  But I'd totally go for the smoked salmon spread since I've been craving a bagel with lox.  :D

I know the menu isn't super conducive to the way I eat! I do like that they try and use locally sourced products! It's a second date and he picked!

I'll be in B'more and DC in August! Any restaurant suggestions for me?
