My son got me on a Fit Bit (wearable technology).

Cool device. Model I got (there are lots of models) is a Fit*****arge HR. HR standing for heart rate.

  1. Has excellent food and water tracking  tools. I thought My fitness pal was good. I like this better as it ties in lots of other things.
  2. Tracks weights and goals
  3. Heart rates. Live and trends. coolest thing to me is it tracks sound and restless sleep trends. Way cool!
  4. Step counters, stair counters, distance, time active and calories burned
  5. Can link and challenge friends and family to activity.
  6. Actually tells time too!
  7. charge Fitbit and it last for about 5 days
  8. Everything syncs to your phone and computer automatically.
  9. Vibrates and tells you who is calling on your phone as well? The vibrate on call thing is good when you phone is not against your body?

I thought this device to be cool and relevant to this group?

Pretty much my entire department at work has some model of a fit bit. We do weekend challenges every weekend. It's so motivating. Instead of running three miles I may run four or five because of the competition! I love my fit bit!

I have this same FitBit and just adore everything it tracks. I think what is even more interesting is seeing how much activity and step increases I see the more weight I lose - even though I don't even notice I'm doing more. Post-op I double my pre-op step count and yet in my eyes I'm not doing anything differently. Just shows you how weight impacts things.

I was just talking about this device with my daughter last night.  Her friend has your model and loves it.  I'm seriously considering getting one.  I'm interested in the heart rate, steps and sleep monitor!

Thanks for the post

I have been looking at the different wearable tracking devices and finally decided to get a FitBit.  Was talking to my youngest daughter out in Cali yesterday about something totally random and out of the blue she mentioned that her hubby had gotten her a Fitbit for her birthday.  I thought how much of a coincidence is this?  Since I am going out there next month for several months, I need to get off my butt and order mine so she and I can keep up with one another..lol,. She is also a personal trainer.. Oh Boy .. I'm in for it now.. lol

Love my FB.  I have the Flex. It definitely keeps me accountable for my exercise.  And lots of my friends have them and we do challenges all the time. Want to exercise?  Get a competition going.  :)

Computer just needs a free USB port and needs to connect to the internet!
