Exercise

I have never been one to exercise for exercise's sake. In my twenties I went to a gym maybe 12 times.  Before I retired, I had the opportunity to use the gym at work but only used it about 5 times over 4 years.  I would chuckle to myself when I read on here how all the vets now love running and other exercise.  Well, I guess I'm getting to be a convert.  For the last couple of weeks I've been going to the walking pools in my retirement community.  I'm going at least every other day and walking for about an hour.  It feels good!  To anyone else who doesn't think they'll ever get into exercise, just find something you like and go for it.

Congrats on getting moving.   It is amazing how much easier exercise is now.  Come join us on the exercise board.

Hi MaryB,

I had a similar experience where I never liked exercise and I never thought I'd get to like it.  But I did.  I'm now going to the gym twice a week, and I always come out feeling better than when I went in.  Plus when I have to skip a class, I miss it.  Who would have thunk! (smile)

best wishes,

Carol
