The one thing the surgeon said that gave me pause was that a patient could expect to lose 25% of his/her excess body weight, possibly more. That would not have been satisfactory for me. I wanted to lose as much as I possibly could. I lost 25% of my excess weight getting ready for surgery. What was not mentioned was how the device works for maintenance, which as we all know is the real big deal.

When the device was approved by the FDA, their studies showed that average excess weight lost was only 10%, and they were recommending it only be used for 6 months. No thanks.
