What's the best sugar substitute .. Or do you just use real sugar at very little amounts. I love ice tea.. Fresh brewed only, I've been trying to drink it with no sugar but it's just too bland.. It needs something and since I can't put vodka in it for work.. Lol..

I love iced tea, too. I switched to stevia and lemon about 7 months pre-op. It took a few weeks to get used to after years of a cup of real sugar in a pitcher, but now it tastes just as good!

I wouldn't use real sugar Ina beverage. That would've just like drinking sugar water. If the tea is too bland without it, then it is really the sugar high you are liking, not the tea.

Wr can drink hundreds of

calories in sugar sweetened beverages. That is one way many of us became obese.

I use stevia. When ever possible I try to avoid the artificial sweeteners like splenda.

I use Truvia, but the best sugar substitute is the one you will like, not what we like! LOL Using real sugar in teas can be a slippery slope & it might be the sugar, not the tea, you like best. If you must  use real sugar, I'd use the sugar packets & log it in mfp, you'll be surprised how quickly those little packets add up!

Mio makes a really good, calorie free, sweet tea.  Just ad ice cubes!

I am a Splenda addict.

I drink it in my tea and my coffee every day.

If you must use artificial sweetener, go with the one you like best (Splenda's pretty good), and use as little as possible. Don't use sugar -- that makes your tea nothing but liquid candy.

While we're on the subject of tea, I'm assuming caffeine is a no-no. Is that right or wrong? I don't drink sodas anymore. But I like coffee and tea. I don't think (fingers crossed) I'll have a lot of problems switching to decaf. I was just curious.
