Well i was sleeved 3-30-16 so i am almost 4 weeks out. during the day i feel fine but when i lay down the acid burns oh so bad. if i try to use a pillow i wake up throwing up acid. Ive tried eating dinner very early and waiting about 5 hours before bed with nothing bu****er and still its really bad. Dr has tried 2 meds omeprazole and nexium so far and i called again today to see if we can try something else. I already had gall bladder removed. my question is did anyone have such bad acid reflux that went away or am i stuck with it? i have heard a few people say had to get rny to fix.. not sure i want that but not sure i have a choice...

Have you tried raising the top of your bed? My dad suffered from acid reflux greatly and this really helped.

Ask your doctor about Protonix it is suppose to be really good. It is prescription only though.

Dexilant is probably the strongest option.

It gets better with time. Mine took a couple years to resolve but it went away.

Protonix has been a miracle worker for me. See if your doc will give you a prescription for it. My issues cleared up within 24 hours of starting the med.

I have the head of my bed elevated 6".  I don't take a PPI but I do take an H2 blocker. (Pepcid) and when that doesn't help I take Reglan but it is rare.  Hope this helps.

I started taking my Nexium at night and it helps,  I sleep on a wedge pillow and make sure not to eat at least 30-45 min before bed. It's still there but not as bad.
