Bariatrics in Boise

I am interested in having the vertical sleeve procedure. I live in Boise, ID and have Blue Cross insurance. I do not know which doctor(s) to see so that my insurance will cover this procedure. Not sure if there is much support for this in my area. Most people seem to do the bypass rather than the sleeve.

I am surprised insurance covered it. How did the doctor get them to pay anything?

Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. They will tell you if surgery is covered (and which types if so) and help you find an in-network doctor.

I also used Dr. Valentine and he was awesome!  I highly recommend him!  Unfortunately, my insurance didn't cover bariatric surgery, so I had to pay out of pocket.  BUT, best thing I've ever done!  I'm at goal after 8 months and dropped 100 pounds!  Changed my life!

Congrats on the weight loss! I have been losing weight on my own for a year now and while it is slow, it is staying off. I have serious concerns about the extra skin. How have you managed the extra skin problem that is usually associated with these procedures?
