4 weeks out and NO weightloss/NO restriction :(

I am not sure what to do.  I have never had any real restriction.  I stayed on the "diet" the first couple of weeks just starving and finally weighed and had not lost one single pound.  I know I got a lot of steroids during the surgery and my thyroid is crazy messed up since the surgery (hypo).  Endo says the zero pound weight loss is due to thyroid and we need to get it under control.  But since then ive started on the more solid foods and I don't get a "stop" like other people.  I don't feel full quickly.  I have no problem eating 3/4 of a regular meal.  I am wondering why i can eat so much and i hear everyone saying they cant get down but a few hundred calories.  I am starving and can eat anything I want.  I am taking the Nexium and thyroid pills daily.  I am not sure what else to do.

Your stomach is still healing from surgery - this means the nerves were severed.  Any full/not-full feelings are a lie and you cannot trust them.  You can, however, do SERIOUS damage to your newly severed stomach by overeating and not following your surgeon's plan.

You are compromising your life right now.  Go back to the diet progression the surgeon ordered, weigh and measure everything you eat and ONLY eat what you've portioned.  Call your surgeon first thing on Monday morning.

The part about the nerves was helpful but otherwise the rest was not.

Pity you feel that way, but Gwen is right. If you eat too much, it's possible to rupture your sleeve and put your health at serious risk.

I am a little confused...your VSG date says 8/01/15....are you a year and 4 weeks or did your date get put in wrong.

I'm sure there are many reasons for this.....everyone is different and we can't expect to have the same results...but....I would be on the phone with the Dr. asap if it was me.  I would be asking lots of questions as to why I can still eat and not losing anything.  What the hell .... I went through all this and I get nothing????  But that's me.....I get a little worked up when things don't seem right like this....I am sure there are people out here who have been in the same boat and hopefully they will reply to this with some answers for you....I am wishing you good luck.

Hi everyone,

I am considering have weight loss revision surgery to VSG in Tijuana with Dr Fernando Garcia.  I was wondering if any of his patients are on here and if you could tell me of your experiences traveling out of the country?

Thank You

The date must have gotten put in wrong?  I am new to this site so I do not know what happened there but my surgery was first week of July 2016.

My insurance excludes ALL THINGS bariatrics so I had to have my surgery in Mexico.  I do not have a surgeon to go see here.  And I am supposed to be on a regular diet now...just low carb and 1/4-1/2 cup of protein, 1/4-1/2 cup veggies and then complex carbs if I am still hungry so I am not sure how the other posters say I am endangering myself.  Anyways, I just thought I would have SOMETHING to help me.  I did have a lapband they were supposed to remove it and revise to a sleeve and i am starting to wonder if they did not just remove the band and not do a sleeve.  Maybe I am wrong. IDK.

You should feel restriction with dense protein.   Give us samples or examples of what you're eating, that would be helpful.

There lies "some" of the problem....I have been a vegetarian for almost 25 years.  The morningstar farms patties are the most dense protein I can find.
