What unusual tools do you use?

After some bad straying, I've gone back to basics using these to store and portion my protein after making it.  I use four for meats, and four for vegetarian protein/yogurt.  I know, they're baby food things - don't laugh, but it works great!  I also use these forks because I've been eating too fast again a year out of surgery.  Of course, you don't need to buy crap to do that.  I've found the portion control has helped, though.  Bigger containers always spell trouble for me.

What unusual/unconventional things have you used post-op? I've been using a lot of bite-sized plates, too, that I got at the thrift store.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

In one of the many books I've read about the sleeve, the author recommends pre-portioning foods using whatever container system worked for the sleever. He said it was another (and good) way to track of your food amounts.

The only semi-unusual tool I use is chopsticks (when appropriate) because they slow down my eating pace, which tends to be on the fast side.

I use little containers ALL THE TIME! I pre portion protein pudding, protein snack mix, and when I make meals I portion out leftovers to freeze or refrigerate, I weight almost all of my food. I always carry a Bubba bottle with ice in it so I always want to drink. (my water HAS to be cold or I won't drink)  Another tool I use... I carry a small cooler with me ALL the time, with my snack mix, protein bar, protein powder to add to anything I may need to while out, etc.  I also carry a backpack now... So that at a moments notice I can carry all of my things if I choose to walk... (regularly walk 4.25 miles to my husbands work from my work and need to carry my purse, cooler, and bubba)

I use those forks and spoons to match.  I still eat off of small plates at home.  I cook meats in quantity and portion in ziploc bags and freeze.

I use my daughter's toddler spoons to eat soft things like cottage cheese and yogurt because it helps me to slow down.

At home I use small plates (4-5") and the small forks.  I've got a child-size bento box+appetizer forks that I use when I need to take my lunch to college.

Aside from those things, I don't think I use any WLS specific tools?  But I definitely appreciate the small food containers for portioning and the small forks for eating slowly!

I have little glass Pyrex cups (might be a different make) with plastic lids which I bring to work with my eggbeaters and cottage cheese.  I just pop them in the microwave to make my breakfast in the morning.
