HELP! What size dress to get this early?

I am two months post op and my cousin is getting married next August. I'm her maid of honor and we have to order dresses in the next 2 months. I'm expecting to hit my final weight which is 175 lbs by then. I'm 5'9" and wondering from the other ladies on here what size they are if you're similar in height to me?? I know I will have to get major alterations regardless but would be nice to get close to size so the dress doesn't change too much.

they can always take it in - but letting it out is much harder.  I would order it to fit and have it taken in - this just happened to a friend of mine (who was pregnant) and they actually ordered her another dress closer to the wedding and called it an exchange - and took the bigger one back.  Also see if the same dress is available elsewhere on a shorter turn around time.

I would be very uncomfortable ordering a dress. When I was 2 months post op I could have never imagined I would be a small or medium, ever. I'm only 5'6 and weigh 150 and am most often a 6. I would say to order an 8 or 10 and then make sure you stick with proper eating to make sure you get to your goal.

5'9 is tall. I would order a size 12. When I was in the 150ish range I was a size 10. I'm 5'6

Isn't it interesting how our bodies are different? I'm 5'6, 150-155 and I'm consistently a 6 or 8. That's why I wouldn't want to order a dress that early.

I'm 5'8" and  I weigh 160 to 165 pound, and I wear a 14 or 16.  I think I'd follow the advice to order it larger, as it's easier to take it in.  If its too small, I think you'll be in trouble.

Good luck!

Very few people reach goal in 4 months. We lose weight very rapidly during the first month, and after that it's only a pound or two a week (if lucky). May I ask how much you need to lose in that time frame?

Ordering a dress 10 months in advance seems excessive.  Is there any way that you can get a special exception?

I am assuming 'hit goal by then' means next August? You really didn't say how much you need to lose...

A couple of things Bridal sizes usually run smaller.

Depending on how your weight is distributed once you lose the weight...which you won't know... it can effect the size of a dress.

Bridal dresses have no stretch- so maybe larger size than you are thinking

I am 5'11" tall and when I was 175 I was usually a 10 in dresses.

If you really need to order now, I would order smaller than you are at the time of order... but not by more than 2 or 3 sizes. As other have said, easier to take in.... again some of it depends on how much weight you are talking about losing. There is no magic ball, so i would play it safe.
